Salisbury Ok’s Pursing Housing Law Changed

An article about Salisbury’s Affordable Housing Issues was written by The Newburyport News Online on 10/23/12  This article discusses the need to protect the town of Salisbury from developers using Chapter 40B to get projects approved.  40B housing projects can ignore the town’s zoning regulations and build dense subdivisions on small parcels of land because of the power afforded by the Chapter 40B affordable housing law.

SALISBURY Affordable Housing

For the second year in a row, Town Meeting voted to request the state Legislature
amend the definition of affordable housing to include the towns mobile and
manufactured homes that have remained on the same lot for at least 20 years.
